Are you a retailer of WEEE?
The WEEE Regulations identify retailers/distributors as someone who sells Electrical or Electronic Equipment to users in the United Kingdom, regardless of how the product is sold, whether it be through the Internet, mail or retail shop.
What are my obligations?
The WEEE Regulations implemented on 2007 state that retailers are responsible for supplying a free disposal to their customers. If you supply EEE to the public, you are required to offer a service that allows your customers to return their end of life product’s free of charge on a like for like basis. When Retailers purchase EEE, it is required that they ask their producer to supply their producer number, which is issued when they join an approved compliance scheme.
